Zach Bears and team place first in HackDuke!

Kudos to Zach Bears, OIT Student Technology Trainer.  He was among a team of  4 Duke computer science students who developed a prototype device that uses a glove, sensors and a computer to translate the motions of sign language into speech as part of the HackDuke computer programming contest this November. Christine Vucinich inducted into ACM SIGUCCS Hall of Fame

Christine L. Vucinich, Technical Education & Outreach Coordinator (OIT Training), was inducted into the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) Special Interest Group on University and College Computing Services (SIGUCCS) Hall of Fame during their 2013 Annual Conference this November in Chicago.

SIGUCCS is an international organization that strives to improve the professional skills of those individuals who are involved in the support, delivery, management and leadership of information technology services in higher education. The SIGUCCS Hall of Fame recognizes those who have made a positive impact on this organization.
