Pre-travel Planning
An important application of Google Earth with respect to travel and tourism allows the user to explore layers of tourism related content in order to determine where to travel, and further, which local sites at the destination might be of interest to a family or traveler. The following links describe ways in which Google Earth’s planning applications can be utilized on a household computer through layers of user-added content, but also ways in which Google tools are accessible outside the home; for instance, through “Google Space” in London’s Heathrow Airport.
