Spark is a new team of students located in the UCAE office that is creating a service to help individuals and groups on campus improve involvement and gain leadership skills. Spark aims to help student groups at Duke reach their full potential. Through our website’s online resources and in-person meetings with Spark agents, we can assist groups on a variety of issues they may come across. Speak formed to answer the needs of student involvement opportunities, from a general video on how to set-up and plan a group budget in Excel, to discussions with a group executive board tailored to the needs of that group. As involved students ourselves, the Spark agents identified five key themes that groups seem to struggle with at points in time. We hope to address issues with:

(4) Team Building & Retention,
(5) Involvement & Recruitment.
