Your communications career should make a statement.
Duke ProComm is a professional development program design for and by communication professionals at Duke.
The program’s goal is aimed at providing opportunities for our communications community at Duke so they can grow and develop in their current roles and gain the necessary experience for advancement opportunities when available.
The curriculum offers three tracks to help staff develop the skills, knowledge and experience to achieve more in their career and prepare them for future communication roles at Duke. The tracks are:
Don’t feel restricted by any one track. You may want to take a class in Writing for the Web (Job Skills Track), as well as a class on Developing Communication/Marketing Plans (Communication Manager Track).
The program will launch in October 2013 with two classes in each track being offered at different times during the fall semester. Additional classes and resources will be developed and introduced each semester. Most of the classes will be taught by our own internal experts who have honed their skills in the trenches at Duke. So, you better behave in class.
Each class has a limited capacity, so you must register in advance. Registration will be through Duke’s Learning Management System, so the classes you complete will become part of your employment record at Duke. Hiring managers will be able to see what classes you’ve completed to prepare you for future roles at Duke.
