GREENgineering team members hear the news at Earth Day Celebration!
Pratt’s GREENngineering team wins the GREEN DEVIL SMACKDOWN!!
Congratulations to the Green Devil Smackdown Champions, greengineering. Battling 63 teams, greengineering put its emissions into submission over the eight week competition.
In addition to glory, greengineering will receive the Smackdown championship belt to display, a congratulatory letter from President Richard Brodhead, and up to $2,000 in carbon offsets.
All individuals who took at least four of the weekly challenges were included in a random drawing to win Smackdown prizes. Kealy Devoy won a new bicycle, Meg Barker won an Amazon Kindle, and Brooks Pearson won a basketball ticket package.
Thank you to all Smackdown participants who fought to reduce your emissions and help Duke become carbon neutral by 2024.

“I’m proud to share that Pratt made a strong showing at the recent 2012 Duke Environmental Management Action Committee (EMAC) Awards. Mohamed Ismail, civil and environmental engineering junior, was honored for Student Environmental Leadership – Undergraduate Individual. Also, the Duke Smart Home and Duke Community Garden was honored for Student Environmental Leadership – Undergraduate Group. Both of these awards recognize the demonstration of innovative and creative leadership in addressing the environmental issues on campus. In addition, members of the Pratt Green Team were on hand to receive the Award for Outstanding Recycling Building on behalf of the Teer Engineering Building.
