Duke University School of Law will hold its fourth annual Race Judicata 5K run/walk around the beautiful Al Beuhler Trail, featuring live music, food and prizes. Also, given the date of this year’s race, we’re encouraging our participants to show off their Halloween spirit with a creative costume! The event is open to the entire Durham and Chapel Hill communities, and all proceeds will support Duke Law students to work unpaid summer positions in public interest law by providing financial support. The race starts at 10:00am and same-day registration is available starting at 8:30.

We are seeking sponsors to provide gift certificates and/or merchandise to give as prizes at the event. Benefits of sponsorship include logo placement on Race Judicata promotional materials, which will be displayed throughout the Duke campus and online; having the name of your business and nature of your donation announced in front of over 150 runners during the awards portion of the Race. We are a registered 501(c)3 and all donations are entirely tax-deductible.
In order to award more prizes, and to send more runners into your business, we prefer multiple smaller donations to a single large donation. For example, we would rather have 3 gift certificates for $10 each than a single gift certificate for $30. No donation size is too small.
Finally, we are also seeking cash and food sponsors to help reduce our logistical and t-shirt expenses Every dollar saved on logistical expenses is another dollar donated to students pursuing public interest work. Donations of all sizes are appreciated, and are, once again, tax deductible.
In addition to the other sponsorship benefits listed above, donors who give at least $50 in merchandise/gift certificates/cash can have their business logo displayed on the Race Judicata t-shirts; donors who give at least $200 can have a 1,000 meter section of the 5,000 meter race named and marked in their honor; donors who give at least $500 can become the title sponsor of the event on all promotional materials and t-shirts.
