Third-year DPT student, Rebecka Schafer, Awarded Scholarship for CMSC and IOMSRT Training Program

UnknownThird-year DPT student, Rebecka Schafer, was awarded a scholarship enabling her to attend a professional education training program supported by The Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers (CMSC) and the International Organization of Multiple Sclerosis Rehabilitation Therapists (IOMSRT).  This 35-hour on-site training program receives support from the Foundation of the Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers (FCMSC) grant which covers the cost of the course, travel expenses, lodging, and meals.

These 35-hour on-site training courses offer specialized training programs for rehabilitation professionals and graduate students in the areas of physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech/language pathology.  The rehabilitation program is for professionals and professionals-in-training who want to learn more about rehabilitation in multiple sclerosis. 

Topics covered include medical management in MS, psychosocial services, wellness services, MS specific rehab programs, patient interaction, active clinical research programs, exposure to seating/mobility and spasticity interventions. Rebecka will attend the FCMSC MS Rehabilitation Therapy Specialty Training Program to be held in Aurora, Colorado.
