About Megan

Megan is an undergraduate at Duke University interested in the intersection between applied sciences and policy. She hopes to become a conservation geneticist and assist in describing and protecting biodiversity. Megan has served as a lead editor for a student-authored book on conservation in the San Diego Bay, co-led an expedition to northern Tanzania to explore the applications of DNA as an identification tool for the bushmeat trade, co-founded the Duke and UNC chapter of Roots&Shoots, and conducted genetic research on species in Madagascar, Gabon, and North Carolina. In her spare time, Megan enjoys photography, singing with her a cappella group, Polynesian dancing, and arts and crafts.
