NMFS-Sea Grant Fellowship in Population Dynamics

I was recently awarded a three-year NMFS-Sea Grant Fellowship in Population Dynamics. This fellowship will fund my dissertation research on the effectiveness of marine protected areas for pelagic predators. The fellowship recently supported a research trip to Hawaii to work with one of my advisors, Dr. Jeffrey Polovina, at NOAA’s Pacific Islands Fisheries Science Center. There, I obtained access to data and started to analyze fishing effort and catch around the Papahanaumokuakea Marine National Monument in the Northwest Hawaiian Islands. You can read the Sea Grant announcement about my fellowship here.
