Tony Perez, Ph.D.

Tony Perez earned his Ph.D. in educational psychology at Temple University. He is interested in the interplay between academic achievement motivation, identity development, and academic choice.  More specifically, Tony is interested in how the perceived costs of being a science major relate to the development of a science identity and persistence in science.  Tony’s scholarly interests grew out of his prior experience as a university career counselor.  When not thinking about science students’ motivation and identity development, Tony enjoys spending time at Durham parks and museums with his family.
