“Language, Literature & Culture”
Thursday, February 7, 2013, 1.00-3.00 pm, Languages A 247
Invited to present are all language instructors and TAs.
The share fair aims to bring us together across the languages and offers an opportunity to share a strategy or exercise that has worked particularly well in the classroom. Depending on the target level of language the activity is aimed at, the presentation (5 minutes – short and sweet…) can be given in the target language or English, whereby the audience is “the class”. This is followed by 5 minutes of Q&A.
To make the materials available, we have set up an open access wordpress site, and ask presenters for a short description paragraph after the fair.
Please send your proposal (title & A/V needs) to Corinna Kahnke corinna.kahnke@duke.edu by Thursday, January 31.

“Crossing Borders, Bridging Gaps”

At the 2011 ACTFL conference, the confluence and collaboration of language, literature, and culture in the foreign language classroom were once again strongly emphasized. How do we, as instructors, cross these borders and bridge existing gaps in the everyday-classroom?

Depending on the target level of language the activity is aimed at, the presentation (5 minutes – short and sweet…) can be given in the target language or English, whereby the audience is “the class”.
