Publishing (X7-X8)
Your final project for this course is to submit one of your pieces for publication. Since many journals and websites set strict limits on the length of pieces they will consider, you may choose to submit one of the shorter pieces you wrote for this course, or even an excerpt of a longer piece.
I will ask you to complete this final project in two stages:
1) Write a brief analysis of the publication you plan to submit your work to. Describe the focus of the publication, the length of typical pieces in it, the forms those pieces take, the process for submitting work, and any other relevant information. Then explain what piece you plan to submit and why you think it may be a good fit for this publication. This analysis is due at 5:00 PM on Tues, 11/30. Please use X7 as your category.
2) Submit your piece. Send me a copy of the cover letter you send to the publication and the version of your piece that you send to them. These materials are due on 5:oo PM on Wed, 12/07, Use X8 as your category.
