Hello and welcome to my page!

I have an interest in the topic of oil because I am a Brazilian-American, born in Sao Paulo and raised in South Florida. My American side cheers for a stable and amicable source of oil in the hemisphere while my Brazilian side cautions for economically and environmentally responsible development in the country.

This research embodies the intersection of the two academic fields I study at Duke University—Public Policy and Latin American Studies. I offer a policy recommendation at the end of this project for how I think Brazil can best exploit this miraculous resource.

Some of my other academic work has been on Brazil’s culture since the millennial economic boom. Next I will be analyzing how Brazil’s 2010 election of a female president has impacted women’s rights.
