This seems scary.  How can I learn more about the candidates?

Candidate questionnaires are a great way for you to learn more about the candidates viewpoints in their own words.  Some Duke students make use of the Indy Week candidate questionnaires, the Durham People’s Alliance questionnaires, the Civitas Institute questionnaires or the N.C. Free Enterprise Foundation questionnaires

If you would like to add another groups set of candidate questionnaires to this list, please email dukethevote@gmail.com

Who are the candidates endorsed by?

We encourage Duke students to share their personal recommendations, or the endorsements of their student organization in the comments section of this page.

  1. Duke Law Student says:

For the Supreme Court races, the Association of Women Attorneys, Equality NC, and the IndyWeek all support Sam Ervin IV over Republican-backed incumbent Newby. Justice Newby was responsible for a 2011 decision that made it impossible for same sex couples to adopt each others’ children.
