SWE is a fantastic organization, and we encourage you to check it out!  Not only does SWE offer a supportive environment for all women engineers, but SWE also offers great professional and career resources for juniors and seniors as well as mentoring resources for freshmen and sophomores.

Joining SWE is easy, and our section at Duke accepts new section members any time for FREE!  To become involved in SWE:

  • Join our e-mail list.  Our email list is our primary means of communication and updates. All female-identifying Pratt women should automatically be on our listserv, but if you would like to be added to our list please contact our VP of Communications, Hana Thibault.
  • Register with National SWE (optional). Being a national member is not required in order for you to participate in section activities.  However, being a national member will allow you to attend the National and Regional Conferences, hold a position on our section’s executive board, and receive the SWE magazine, among other bonuses.  National membership registration can be completed online through the official Society of Women Engineers Membership page.

A note about National SWE Membership:  SWE offers a Collegiate to Career membership, which will cover your SWE membership for all of your college years, plus one year after graduating.  This option is beneficial for anyone with at least two years of school left.
