Region D Conference

Region D Conference will be March 2-4 in Charleston, SC.  It’s a great opportunity to get involved with the bigger SWE family without having to travel far and to look for those last-minute internships.  For more info about the conference, visit http://www.sweregiond.org/Conference.

Halloween E-Social THIS FRIDAY!

When: Friday, October 28, 4-6pm
Where: Twinnie’s, E-Quad

That’s right! This Friday, SWE will be hosting the Halloween E-Social at Twinnie’s Café on the E-Quad. Come for some (FREE) food and Halloween candy, and paint a mini pumpkin to show off to all of your jealous Trinity friends!

The Details:

When: Saturday Afternoon, Nov 5th (Leave campus around lunch, and get back by 4 pm)
Where: Meredith College (30 min away)
What:  We will be doing 2 activities as part of a a day long event hosted annually by the girl scouts, introducing girls to science and technology.  You can sign up to make color bandanas using “chromatography” principles, or make prosthesis (thumb, ear, etc) with the girls. It is an awesome event–everyone has a great time!

Bots High Movie Screening 10/6 @ 7p <-- NOTE Time Change

SWE is teaming up with the Robotics Club to show “Bots High” a documentary about three high school robotics teams (two of which are all-girl) competing for first place in a national high school robotics competition. Robotics Club will also be doing a demonstration of what their members have been working on, and the director will lead a discussion afterward. And if that’s not enticing enough, there will be free pizza!
