046407_david needham thumbnailsMechanical engineering professor and pub darts enthusiast David Needham was recently written up in the Manchester (UK) Evening News for an invention he and his brother have developed. It’s a sight for darts players through which one spots the target before zinging the dart. Needham, who is currently splitting his time between faculty appointments here and in Odense, Denmark, is better known for working on drug delivery systems for cancer.

But he’s pretty famous in dart circles as well, having won several Triangle Dart championships with his crew, the Darty Old Men. He’s known for occasionally throwing darts in class as well and has enlisted the help of students to further his search for a perfect dart parabola.
