Muriel K. Offerman began her career in politics and government service during the administration of Governor James B. “Jim” Hunt. She has served as the Deputy Secretary and the Secretary of the North Carolina Department of Revenue, and as the Deputy Chairman of the North Carolina Employment Security Commission. Offerman was the first Jew in the Council of the State.
