Digital Research Internships

Digital Scholarship Services offers an internship for a Duke graduate student to work in The Edge: The Ruppert Commons for Research + Technology + Collaboration. Digital Research Interns, working through the Digital Scholarship Services department, help design and develop innovative research, train others in digital tools and methods, and further The Edge mission to support data driven, digitally reliant, interdisciplinary, or team-based research. This year, we are particularly keen to hire someone with social media and communication expertise, but encourage applications from anyone with demonstrated skills in using technology to manage, analyze, or publish qualitative research.

Among other duties, Digital Research Interns have opportunities to research and develop best practices for digital projects, demonstrate and train others in digital methods and tools, and assist in staffing and programming for the Murthy Digital Studio. In addition to familiarity with tools and methods used in conducting digital research, candidates for this position possess excellent communication and organizational skills and a capacity to work both independently and with a team. This is a one-year internship (nine-months at 10 hours/week, during the 2015-2016 academic year) with opportunities for paid training and skill development and possibility for renewal.
