I thought your layout was one of the most effective layouts. Although it was verbose, which may have bogged down some other posters, all your titles and headers were intelligently crafted in such a way that I wanted to read on. It was nice to watch your paper develop from a rough draft into a wonderful finished poster. Moreover, out of all the research gaps presented, yours is particularly creative and unique with real implications for the conservation of your species. Well done!

Your poster was both very visually appealing and very informative and interesting. I am very intrigued by the thought of extending the conservation of biodiversity to include the preservation of culture. Your study design is very thorough and sounds as though it would prove very effective in determining whether or not dolphins actually do exhibit a culture. Awesome job!

Your poster immediately catches a passerby with its logical yet creative and colorful background, and also with its shocking pictures. I think it is hard for many people to imagine poaching of such a graceful marine mammal.

I cannot believe that Japanese dolphin slaughter is alone responsible for eliminating such a large part of the dolphin population! I know that it took the Eastern cougar two centuries of being hunted in order to reach a dangerously low population, so the dolphin killing must be very severe. I am very surprised it is unregulated. It is also an interesting argument that we should care more about dolphin conservation because they are cultured animals. I initially thought it was wasteful to use resources and money just to see if dolphins classify as cultured animals. Although, I must say, the “pushing the button” experiment is really cool!

I actually used The Cove as a segue into my research proposal of another dolphin species Hector's dolphin. I thought you took an interesting and informative perspective on conserving this particular dolphin population by examining their culture instead of endangerment. Through this you prove that the ethics behind dolphin management is just as important. In addition, your poster layout is great and easy to follow. Good job!

This was an excellent poster! I loved the design of it and the images you used. I also loved the detailed captions that you gave for each image that you used. Your topic was also extremely interesting and relevant. I remember seeing a movie about something similar to this called "The Cove". It was possibly about the same thing. Anyways, the movie really made me concerned about the plight of Japanese dolphins, so I was really excited when I realized what your poster topic was. You covered the issues surrounding the dolphins beautifully. Congratulations on a job well done!

I really enjoyed your poster simply because it had a lot of shock value. I had never heard of dolphins being purposely killed, as they are iconic in the United States. The pictures you chose really added to this shock value, as they blatantly show dead dolphins. Your proposal often was very interesting, as I had never heard of looking at the neurological effects on animals. Great Job.

You did a perfect job selecting the pictures for your poster! It really catches my attention. I really like the "Why care?" part of your poster. I think it will make people pay more attention on your research proposal. And yes..I would definitely support you!

Great job Alissa! I really liked the organization of your poster and the images you chose definitely got my attention. I did not realize there was a difference between a "species" and a "population." I think that your emphasis on saving populations instead of species is great and I look forward to hearing about your "dolphin MRI" design!
