Karen Chen
is a public policy major and visual studies minor. As a Documentary Studies Certificate student, she has taken classes in film, photography, audio, and documentary writing. Her final capstone project, “Barber Work,” features Park West Barber School—the only barber-training facility in Durham—and interviews with its instructors, students, and administrators. “Barber Work” captures and examines contemporary barbershop culture.
