Marissa Katarina Bergmann

Marissa Katarina is a visual studies major and photography minor. Her experiences at the Center for Documentary Studies and abroad have nurtured a keen interest in experimental photographic processes and the power of visual expression. Her project Tamako Nasu Izu: The Spherical Child incorporates still and moving images, and is inspired by the nature and strength of her grandmother Tamako Izu, as well as the Japanese aesthetic of wabi-sabi, which cherishes the beauty of imperfection and the transience of time.
