Aishlinn O’Connor
is a political science, journalism, and documentary studies student. Her work at CDS has focused on photography and writing. In her capstone project, Finding Friendship, she uses black and white photography and writing to tell the story of the unique friendship between her grandmother, Sue, and John, Rick, and Paul, three homeless men living in Kansas City. The friendship crosses traditional societal boundaries of class and age, and faces challenges including mental illness and imprisonment.
