Vegetation (for my sister)

The vegetation is mostly new to me.  As I mentioned yesterday, the only thing I recognized in some yards is grass.  It’s getting a bit better, and I’m seeing plants that I’m sure were bedding plants from Lowes (geraniums, petunias) and some trees that look sorta familiar.  However, I going to post the ones I don’t recognize here, so Al can take a peek.

Mystery flower #2

Mystery flower #1

There are beautiful trees just covered with red blossoms everywhere around here.  I just love them, and they are totally unfamiliar to me.

Miscellaneous hillside grasses near the Golden Gate Bridge

Near Pier 39 there is a really weird palm tree, with a large growth hanging from it. The growth seems to be some sort of nut or fruit, and is probably about 2 feet long. Wonder what it could be?
